The itinerary

Day 01

Transfer to Guingopana Pass and Trek to Isinlivi

• Leave Quito at 8:00 am and drive south along the Pan-American Highway for 2 hours.

• Continue to Guingopana Pass, situated 3,980 meters above sea level.

• Hike for about 4 hours towards Isinlivi, a small town located 2,960 meters above sea level.

• Stay overnight at Hostal Llullu Llama.

Day 02

Trek from Isinlivi to Chugchilán

• After breakfast, start trekking for about 5 hours to Chugchilán, another small town situated 3,200 meters above sea level.

• Stay overnight at Hostel Mama Hilda.

Day 03

Trek to Quilotoa Lake and Return to Quito

• Prepare for a long and hard trek towards Quilotoa crater with a good breakfast.

• Hike uphill for about 6 hours.

• Arrive at Quilotoa Lake with your Ecuadorian tour guide.

• Visit and explore the artisan market in the town.

• Depart for Quito.
