Day by day

The itinerary

Day 01

Tangier, Chefchaouen and Onward to Fes

On the first day of your tour, we will meet you at the port and drive through the Rif Mountains, passing by Tetouan city and enjoying views of the beautiful mountains until we reach Chefchaouen.
It is one of the stunning villages at the foot of the Rif Mountains. Chefchaouen medina has a Spanish-style square surrounded by many funky arts and crafts stores, rooftop restaurants, and cafes.
If time allows, we can do a short visit before continuing on our way to Fes.
There, you will spend the night in a traditional Moroccan riad or hotel with dinner and breakfast.

Day 02

Explore Fes and Drive through the Middle Atlas to Midelt

After breakfast, we will have an explorative morning in Fes medina. You will visit many hidden treasures that only the inhabitants of the place know about.
Fes served as the capital of Morocco for more than 350 years and is home to the University of Al Karaouine, the oldest operating university in the world.
Your local guided tour will take you to the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, the Nejjarine Fountains, and the Tanneries.
Then, at about 1:00 pm, drive south to Ifrane and Azrou through the Middle Atlas Mountains. There, you will have the opportunity to see monkeys in the wild.
Later, arrive in Midelt and overnight in a fancy hotel kasbah, with dinner and breakfast.

Day 03

Midelt to Merzouga Desert with Camel Trekking and Camp Stay

After breakfast, we will start travelling through the Tizi Ntalghamt Pass and along the magnificent Ziz Gorges, carved through volcanic rock.
You will see views of the High Atlas plateau and watch the scenery change to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errachidia.
Then, we will continue through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, Rissani, and Merzouga.
At the end of the day, you will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea and ride your camel to see the sunset from the middle of the highest sand dune in Morocco, where you will spend the night.
Finally, overnight at our desert camp, where you will have your dinner.

Day 04

Sunrise in Merzouga, Todra Gorge, Dades Valley and Ouarzazate

Your camel guide will wake you up early in the morning to watch what may well be the best sunrise of your life.
Then, you will peacefully camel-trek back to the village of Merzouga. En route, you will appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes, changing with the light as the day progresses.
After breakfast and a hot shower, you will leave for Rissani, Tinghir, and Todra Gorges. These are the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco.
After lunch in the heart of the gorges, we will continue to Dades Valley and Roses Valley.
Later, arrive in Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Africa.
Finally, overnight accommodation will be in a fancy traditional riad with dinner and breakfast.

Day 05

Ouarzazate, Aït Benhaddou and the High Atlas to Marrakech

After breakfast in your riad, we will drive to the famous Aït Benhaddou kasbah, the largest kasbah in Morocco.
After touring this UNESCO historical site, our tour will continue through the majestic Tizi n' Tichka Pass (2,260 m) over the High Atlas Mountains.
We will have time to stop, enjoy impressive views, and visit the argan oil cooperative. Then, lunch in the heart of the mountains.
Afterwards, we will arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon, and you will still have some time to explore the famous square, Jemaa el-Fnaa.
Overnight in a traditional riad in the medina with dinner and breakfast.
