The itinerary

Day 01

Drive to Khustain Nuruu National Park

Get picked up from your stay.
Drive southwest of Ulaanbaatar to Khustain Nuruu National Park.
Enjoy lunch at the camp.
- Optional: a horse ride or hike in the afternoon.
Drive to a small spring before sunset, where Takhi come down from the mountains for water.
Stay overnight in the Ger camp.

Day 02

Journey to Khogno Khan Nature Reserve

Start an early morning drive to Khogno Khan Nature Reserve. Khogno Khan Mountain has the ruins of a temple almost at the top of the mountain, which was destroyed by Galdan Boshigt, the leader of Dzungaria in Western Mongolia, in the XVII century.
Continue walking down to Erdenekhombo Monastery.
Stay overnight in the Ger camp.

Day 03

Discover Karakhorum and Elsen Tasarhai

Reach Karakhorum, the ancient capital, and see the remaining sights of the ancient Mongolian capital, which was built by the descendants of Chinggis Khaan in the XIII century. Later, it was moved to Beijing, China, by Khublai Khaan, the grandson of Great Khaan Chinggis.
Experience a camel ride through the dunes on a two-humped Bactrian camel at Elsen Tasarhai on the way to the camp.
Stay overnight in the Ger camp.
