  • Stroll through the Souq, where you get an idea of everyday life, and continue to the Roman Theater from the 2nd century, with 6,000 seats.

  • Then head to the Desert Castles in eastern Jordan. Amra Castle is adorned with its zodiac dome and early examples of Umayyad fresco paintings, while the fortress-like and mysterious Qasr Kharanah and the black basalt Roman-Medieval Islamic fort at Azraq are also visited.

  • Here, enjoy an overwhelming view over the northern Jordan Valley, the Golan Heights, and the Sea of Galilee.

  • Continue to Jerash, the best example of a Roman provincial city in the whole Middle East.

  • Visit the spectacular forum, the Roman colonnaded street, the Nymphaeum, and the Temple of Artemis.

Return to Amman for an overnight stay.

Guided Tour of Petra

  • After breakfast, head to the red rose city of Petra, the biggest attraction in Jordan. Petra was first established around the 6th century B.C. by the Nabataean Arabs, a nomadic tribe who settled in the area and laid the foundation of a commercial empire that extended into Syria.

  • With the guide, pass through the canyon, the so-called Siq, to see the most beautiful monument, the Treasury. Continue via the Street of Facades to the Royal Tombs and Pharaoh's Castle.

  • After that, enjoy free time to explore Petra on your own.

Overnight in Petra.

Wadi Rum Jeep Tour and Camel Ride

  • At 07:45 am, get picked up from the hotel and travel 1.5 hours south to the protected area of Wadi Rum, one of the most impressive desert landscapes in the world.

  • At about 9:30 am, meet your guide and the camels, then start riding towards the red sand dunes through the Rum and Um Ishrin valleys.

  • On the way, stop at Lawrence's Spring.

  • After taking a look at the Nabataean inscriptions in Anfashiyeh, leave the camels and camel guide behind to cross a sand dune, where a jeep will join you for lunch and a rest in the shade of the mountain.

  • In the afternoon, use the jeep to visit the natural rock bridges in Jebel Burdah and Um Fruth. You will have the opportunity to climb the latter if you wish.
