Holy Sites Around the Sea of Galilee
Visit the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered his famous "Sermon on the Mount." Take a walk around the area and enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding hills and the Sea of Galilee.
Visit Tabgha, where Jesus is believed to have performed the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes. Walk around the area and see the ancient mosaic floors that depict this miracle. You can also visit the modern church built here, which is dedicated to the miracle.
Visit Capernaum, where Jesus is believed to have spent much of his ministry. Tour the ancient ruins and see the remains of the synagogue where Jesus is said to have preached. You can also see the house of Peter, believed to be the site of several miracles performed by Jesus.
Visit Yardenit, where the Jordan River exits the Sea of Galilee and which is a popular site for Christian baptisms. Take a walk around the area and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. You can also participate in a baptismal ceremony if you wish.
Visit Magdala, the site of an ancient fishing village and believed to be the birthplace of Mary Magdalene. Tour the ancient ruins and see the remains of the first-century synagogue. You can also visit the modern church built here, which is dedicated to the women who followed Jesus.
