Cagliari Archaeology and Historic Landmarks Tour

  • Meet your tour guide and visit the National Archaeological Museum in Cagliari. Inside the museum, we begin by explaining the origins of Sardinia through archaeological artifacts from prehistoric and protohistoric times up to the Roman era. Once we finish tracing these historical events through the collections, we proceed to view the magnificent Giants of Monti Prama, along with any other notable artifacts inside the museum.
  • Proceed to the Necropolis of Tuvixeddu, where you will see the excavated tombs from the outside. Some of them will be explained in detail on Tuvixeddu hill, with a focus on the Carthaginian period, while also exploring the history of the necropolis itself from the Punic to the Roman period.
  • Move ahead to Cagliari's Roman Amphitheatre. You will see the structure from the outside, and its features will be explained along with the history of the gladiatorial spectacles that were once held inside.
  • End the visit with a short program: a walk through some of Cagliari's commercial streets, finishing at one of the city's most important and beautiful monuments, the Bastion of Saint Remy. The tour can end either with simple photographs of its front or by climbing the monumental staircase and admiring the beautiful panoramic view that the bastion offers.
