Food Pilgrimage Through Modena and Castelvetro

  • Meet your tour guide, who can pick you up from the agreed-upon location in Bologna or Modena, and make a pilgrimage along the route of food milestones: Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and Aceto Tradizionale Balsamico, two legends of Italian cuisine to which people in the Modena area have dedicated their entire lives.
  • Visit a Parmesan dairy, where every day the cheese masters give birth to the "King of Cheeses" and where the cheese itself is stored for long months. Here, you will taste two selections: 24- and 36-month-old cheese.
  • Proceed to a local producer of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar, where the owner - whose family has been making vinegar since 1870 - will offer you a taste of two kinds of balsamic, aged 12 and 25 years, coupled with Parmesan and even ice cream. And why not? A glass of red, fruity, sparkling Lambrusco wine. Moreover, you will be surprised by the way balsamic can be successfully paired with Parmesan, ice cream, and meat.
  • Walk in the fairytale medieval hamlet of Castelvetro di Modena, with its narrow cobbled streets and 15th-century houses.
  • End the tour.
