Day 01
Rabat Heritage Sightseeing from Casablanca
- After breakfast at your hotel in Casablanca, start your heritage tour to Rabat around 8:30 AM. If you like, we will drive on the highway or along the coastal road to reach Rabat while enjoying the scenic beauty of nature along the way.
- Once in Rabat, begin the visit at the Royal Palace, then head to Hassan Tower, set in a landscaped area overlooking the beach and the ancient medina.
- On the opposite side of the mosque, you will find the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. It includes the tomb of King Mohammed V and his two sons. The building's exterior will excite you to discover what it contains inside; its typical green dome and ornate doors beautifully represent oriental modern architecture.
- After lunch (at your own expense), drive a short distance to visit Kasbah Chellah. It is a fortified Muslim necropolis built on Roman remains, and its huge yellow walls give you the feeling of walking back into the Middle Ages. On the same day, continue to the ocean town to discover Rabat's first dwelling dating back to the 12th century, especially the Oudayas Kasbah. The place is full of narrow alleyways and surrounded by big walls and archaic doors. Here, you will enjoy a nice view over the old city of Salé and the Atlantic Sea, and it is the best place to take some breathtaking pictures.
- After that, enjoy some free time to walk in the old town or have a mint tea on a panoramic terrace. Then, in the late afternoon, drive back to Casablanca.
