The itinerary

Day 01

Agadir to Ouarzazate via Taroudant and Aït Benhaddou

Depart from Agadir in the morning by 4 x 4 towards the southeast. Visit Taroudant, including the medina, souk, ramparts, and Salam Palace.
Have lunch in Taliouine, in front of the Kasbah El Glaoui.
Then continue through Tazenakht and visit the kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Night in a 3-star hotel or charming riad in Ouarzazate.

Day 02

Ouarzazate to Merzouga via Dades and Todra Gorges

Depart from Ouarzazate towards the Road of the Kasbahs to El Kelaa M'Gouna, the city of roses.
From there, take the small loop through the Valley of the Roses via Bou Tharar, then return to the paved road.
From Boumalne du Dades, continue to the Dades Gorge.
Visit the amazing gorges and stop for photos at the Monkey Toes rock formations, then continue to the Todra Gorges in Tinghir.
Visit the gorges and stop for photos at the panoramic viewpoint of Ighir of Todra, then continue to Merzouga.
Stop for lunch in the Tinjdad Valley, then continue through Erfoud and Rissani to reach Merzouga.
Here, you will be welcomed with mint tea before taking another adventure: a camel ride for an amazing sunset over the dunes.
Overnight in a desert camp under the stars with dinner and Touareg Berber music.

Day 03

Merzouga to Zagora via Alnif, Tazarine and Nkob

Wake up early to enjoy sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga.
After breakfast and a shower, drive to Zagora and the Draa Valley, passing through Alnif and Tazarine.
After lunch in a local restaurant in the village of Nkob, continue through the Boughafer Massif to reach the oasis of Zagora. Enjoy a free visit of the city. This region is the cradle of the Saadian dynasty, which reigned in the 16th century and conquered Timbuktu.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 04

Zagora to Erg Chegaga via M'hamid

After breakfast, depart for a visit to the Koranic library.
Then continue on the road to M'hamid, where you will have lunch.
After lunch, depart for the sea of sand at Chégaga, home to the highest dune in Morocco, rising to 300 m in altitude and stretching more than 40 km in length. Watch the sunset, enjoy an evening animated with Sahara songs, then have dinner and spend the night in a traditional tented bivouac.

Day 05

Erg Chegaga to Agadir via Foum Zguid and Taznakht

After breakfast in the heart of the desert, depart by 4 x 4 towards Foum Zguid via the old Paris-Dakar track and the dry lake of Iriqui.
Have lunch in Taznakht and continue to Agadir.
Arrive in the late afternoon.
