Explore the great south and desert of Morocco from Agadir, passing through Taliouine, the Atlas mountains, Taznakhte, and the Draa Valley with its palm grove. Spend unforgettable nights in the silent desert of Chegaga and Merzouga, including camel rides for beautiful sunset and sunrise moments among the dunes. Along the way, discover hidden Berber villages, meet locals, and visit remarkable sites such as Kasbah Taourirt and the UNESCO-listed Aït Benhaddou Kasbah near Ouarzazate.

The itinerary

Day 01

Agadir to Zagora via Taliouine, Agdez and Tamnougalte

Depart from Agadir in the morning in a 4 × 4 or minivan towards the southeast.
Pass through Taliouine and Agdez, stop for lunch in Tamnougalte, and visit the Kasbah.
Then continue to Zagora through the Draa Valley.

Night in a 4-star hotel or charming riad in Zagora.

Day 02

Zagora to Erg Chegaga via M'hamid

After breakfast, depart for a visit to the Koranic library.
Then continue on the road to M'hamid, where we will have lunch.
After lunch, depart for the sea of sand at Chegaga, home to Morocco's highest dunes at around 300 m in altitude and more than 40 km in length. There is the possibility of a camel ride, followed by watching the sunset and enjoying an evening animated with songs of the Sahara.

Dinner and overnight at a traditional tented bivouac.

Day 03

Erg Chegaga to Merzouga via Draa Valley, Tazzarine and Rissani

After breakfast, drive along the Draa Valley, the longest river in Morocco at 2200 km.
Along the valley, admire the charm of the palm grove stretching for more than 150 km.
After Zagora, turn left onto the old caravan road towards Merzouga, stop for lunch in the village of Nkob, and then continue through the hidden Berber villages of Tazzarine and Alnif.
Stop in the village of Rissani, the old town of Sejjelmassa, and visit the Moulay Ali Cherif Mausoleum, founder of the Alaouite dynasty.
Then continue to Merzouga, where our camel man will be waiting to begin a new adventure. Ride out for an exceptional sunset over the big dunes of Erg Chebbi, enjoy a lifetime moment of silence in the middle of nowhere, and spend time with Touareg singing Berber music.

Overnight in a desert camp under a Berber tent with dinner and breakfast.

Day 04

Merzouga to Agadir via Toudra Gorges, Ouarzazate and Aït Benhaddou

After breakfast in the heart of the desert, depart by 4 × 4 towards Ouarzazate.
Travel through the oasis, visit the giant canyons of the Toudra Gorges, and continue via the Dades Valley and Rose Valley to reach Ouarzazate.
Once in Ouarzazate, stop to visit the old Kasbah of Taourirt and continue to Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Stop for lunch and visit the old Kasbah with a local guide.
After lunch, continue towards Taroudant.
Arrive in Agadir in the late afternoon.
