Essaouira Excursion
- This day trip to Essaouira Mogador starts with a pick-up by an air-conditioned and comfortable vehicle at 08:00 am from your accommodation in Marrakech, then make the 192-km drive to Essaouira.
- Enjoy views of the countryside along the way, as you pass through villages and fields, then stop at a small argan oil cooperative run by local women.
- Learn how the oil is extracted and used—with the option to purchase oil direct from the producers before continuing to Essaouira.
- On the road, you can also stop to take some memorable photos and watch the goats climbing the Argan trees.
- Discover the basics of Essaouira’s history on a sightseeing walking tour of the old city, taking in the distinctive blue-and-white architecture and unique rhythm of the seaside town. The UNESCO-listed Medina is full of artists and artisans’ shops. You will also visit other charming sites like the jeweller’s district and the old Jewish quarter.
- Following the tour, after having a fish lunch by the port or in a local restaurant, you’ll have the rest of the day to explore on your own. Head down to the water to see the fishers bring in the catch of the day and visit the old Portuguese fortress Sekkala.
- At the end of the afternoon, meet the driver for the return trip to Marrakech and drop you off in your accommodation.
