Day 01
Manaus Historic Center and Amazon River Experience
- Connect with your tour guide, who will pick you up from your hotel to start the itinerary.
- Begin by heading towards the historical center of Manaus to see the facades of the buildings marked by the neoclassical style that defined Manaus during the rubber boom.
- Go through an area called "the old Manaus," which offers a clear understanding of the rich era our region once held.
- Visit the Amazonas Opera House and understand how so many materials and artists were brought from Europe to the jungle to build a place that remains a symbol of this beautiful era.
- Then, move to the market complex to see the three buildings known as the banana market, the fish market, and the municipal market, each holding its own unique beauty.
- See the Rio Negro Palace, which was intended to be a rubber baron's house but ended up becoming the government's office.
- Now, drive to the port and take a speedboat to visit the most impressive phenomenon of the two rivers that run side by side without mixing their waters. You will receive a comprehensive explanation of this phenomenon.
- Next, go to the floating village, where the houses, school, churches, bars, and restaurants are all built on logs so they can float on the lake.
- Disembark at a floating fish farm and have an encounter with the biggest species of scaled freshwater fish in the world, the famous pirarucu (Arapaima gigas). Play with them using a fishing rod without hooks so as not to hurt them.
- Afterwards, get back to the boat for a nice ride upstream, heading to Lake Janauary to visit the lake with water lilies.
- Later, walk on a suspended walkway as high as the canopy of the trees and witness one of the biggest tree species in the Amazon.
