Lower City and Upper City Discovery
- Meet your guide at the agreed-upon location to begin the program.
- Start the tour at Farol da Barra, where you will enjoy spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and the entrance to the bay.
- Then, make your way up Ladeira da Barra to reach the upscale neighborhood of Vitória.
- Pass through Campo Grande Square and see its famous Dois de Julho monument.
- As you head down to the Lower City, drive through Salvador's old financial center toward the renowned Bonfim Church.
- Along the way, you will have the chance to stop at the city's most traditional ice cream shop, Sorveteria da Ribeira.
- Arrive at Bonfim Church, one of the most famous churches in Brazil and a great representation of the religious syncretism so present in the local culture.
- Continue to Ponta de Humaitá and stop at Mont Serrat Fort, where you will enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Salvador.
- Then head to Dique do Tororó to appreciate the famous sculptures of the Orixás - African deities.
- You will also see the nearby soccer stadium, Arena Fonte Nova.
- Continue to the top of the Upper City, where the Portuguese built the first capital of Brazil.
- From Municipal Square, take in views of the bay and its islands. At this point, free time will be provided for lunch.
- It is then time to walk around and visit the other squares: Sé Square, Jesus Square, where you will visit the Basilica Cathedral, Saint Francis Square, and Pelourinho Square, where the Jorge Amado Foundation and the Church of Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Pretos are located.
