La Maddalena and Caprera Island Discovery
- Get picked up from your hotel and head to the port of Palau, where a ferry boat will transport you to the island of La Maddalena. The crossing lasts about 15 minutes. La Maddalena is the principal island of an archipelago off the northeastern tip of Sardinia. The archipelago, also known as La Maddalena, consists of more than sixty islands, islets, and rocks. In the past, these islands were important strategic naval and military bases; today, they are an attractive and fairly low-key holiday destination.
- Explore the islands, including many of their beaches, the oldest church, La Trinità, and the town center.
- After that, cross the bridge of La Moneta to reach the island of Caprera. Here, visit the house-museum of Giuseppe Garibaldi, the Italian hero who unified Italy in 1860.
- In Caprera, also visit some of its beautiful beaches and military fortresses.
