Day 01

Churches and Piazzas of Historic Florence

Meet your tour guide at Santa Croce Church, the Basilica of the Holy Cross, also known as the Temple of the Italian Glories. This is also the largest Franciscan church in the world. You will discover why it is here and learn about its function, together with its large square, as you explore Piazza Santa Croce, where the historic football game began.
Your guide will share stories about all the highlights of Florence, with entertaining tales from Roman times, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and more modern periods.
Then move to another important square, Piazza della Signoria, and have a quick look at Palazzo Vecchio and the nearby open-air museum, Loggia dei Lanzi.
Continue your journey towards the medieval granary church Ognissanti, Piazza della Repubblica, and then reach the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Belltower, and the Medici Palace.
