The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arrival in Amman

  • Meet and greet at Amman airport according to your arrival time.
  • Depart مباشرة to the hotel in Amman, or to the first area to be visited according to the agreement, and then continue to the hotel you have booked in advance.
2
Day 02

Wadi Mujib Walk and Transfer to Petra

  • Walk up the Mujib River to the waterfall. Wadi Mujib spans 70 kilometres of valleys, towns, and mountains. It begins at the Desert Highway and ends at the opening of the iconic Dead Sea. The canyon itself is an impressive 4 kilometres wide and one kilometre tall. The entrance to the Mujib Biosphere Reserve is around 1 hour and 20 minutes from the capital city of Amman.
  • The trail starts at the Visitor Center near the Mujib Bridge, where you will take the cantilevered walkway over the dam and follow the river's course between towering sandstone cliffs to the base of a large waterfall. Depending on seasonal rainfall levels, the gorge may contain pools deep enough for swimming.
  • This is an ideal walk to take slowly and enjoy the cool water and shade, especially in the summer heat.
  • Drive for around 3 hours towards Petra along the Dead Sea and drop off at the Petra hotel you reserved in advance.
3
Day 03

Petra Archaeological Hike

  • Start the Petra hike at 6:30 am. Petra, the capital of the Nabataean Arabs, is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world. It is located 240 km south of the capital, Amman, and 120 km north of the Red Sea town of Aqaba. It is undoubtedly Jordan's most valuable treasure and greatest tourist attraction, and it is visited by tourists from all over the world.
  • Enjoy some private time to explore the ancient city by yourself.
  • Have lunch on your own somewhere in Petra.
4
Day 04

Full-Day Exploration of Wadi Rum

  • Explore Wadi Rum for a full day. Wadi Rum is a protected desert wilderness in southern Jordan. It features dramatic sandstone mountains like the many-domed Jebel Um Ishrin and natural arches like Burdah Rock Bridge. Many prehistoric inscriptions and carvings line rocky caverns and steep chasms, such as Khazali Canyon. The natural watering hole of Lawrence's Spring is named after British soldier Lawrence of Arabia, who allegedly washed there.
5
Day 05

Visit to Karak Castle

  • Visit the famous Crusader Castle. Karak Castle is a large Crusader castle located in al-Karak. It is one of the largest Crusader castles in the Levant. Construction of the castle began in the 1140s under Pagan and Fulk, King of Jerusalem. The Crusaders called it Crac des Moabites, or "Karak in Moab," as referred to in history books.

Day 06

Bethany and Optional Visits

  • Explore Bethany, the baptism site. In those days, John the Baptist came, preaching in the Desert of Judea and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." People went out to him from Jerusalem and all Judea and the whole region of the Jordan. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.
  • Optional visit to the Ma'in Hot Springs. Also known as Hammamat Ma'in, these are a series of hot mineral springs and waterfalls located between Madaba and the Dead Sea in Madaba Governorate.
  • Optional visit to Mount Nebo. It is an elevated ridge of the Abarim in Jordan, approximately 710 metres above sea level. It is mentioned in the Hebrew Bible as the place where Moses was granted a view of the Promised Land.
  • Have lunch at the Mazarin Nebo restaurant.

Day 07

Amman Roman Theatre and Citadel

  • Visit the Roman Theatre, a 6,000-seat 2nd-century theatre. This famous landmark in the Jordanian capital dates back to the Roman period, when the city was known as Philadelphia.
  • Explore Amman Citadel, a historical site at the centre of downtown Amman. The L-shaped hill is one of the seven hills that originally made up Amman. Since the Pottery Neolithic period, evidence of occupation has been found, and the hill was fortified during the Bronze Age.
  • Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 08

Jerash Ruins and Ajloun Castle

  • Drive to the Roman ruins of Jerash. Jerash today is home to one of the best-preserved Greco-Roman cities, which earned it the nickname "Pompeii of the East." Approximately 330,000 visitors arrived in Jerash in 2018, making it one of the most visited sites in Jordan. The city hosts the Jerash Festival, one of the leading cultural events in the Middle East, attracting thousands of visitors every year.
  • Have lunch at Artemis Restaurant.
  • Head to Ajloun Castle, a 12th-century fortress built under the rule of the sultan and military leader Saladin. The castle is set on top of Mount 'Auf and provides visitors with astonishing views of the Jordan Valley and surrounding desert. Over the years, the castle has undergone many rebuilds. Although many of the original features no longer exist, there are still many chambers, carvings, and towers to keep adults and children interested.
