This section can be challenging and takes around 3 hours. The route offers stunning views westwards towards the fascinating Wadi Araba desert.
  • Reach the top of a high saddle, which has some of the most beautiful scenery of the trek, before descending along a small goat track to the river valley of Wadi Feid. Refresh yourself in the cool water here and have lunch.
  • Continue trekking upstream, manoeuvring around a beautiful dense garden of oleander, willow, tamarisk, and reed.
  • Beyond this, walk along a dry riverbed surrounded by colourful sandstone outcrops to reach the camping spot, where you can enjoy Bedouin tea, a meal, and a well-earned rest.

Dinner and overnight stay at the mobile camp.

  • Then the climb begins as the narrow route, open to sheer drop-offs, leads to perhaps Petra's most awe-inspiring monument, the Monastery.
  • Walk down the well-worn Nabataean steps into the heart of Petra and visit Facades Street, the Urn Tomb, the Theatre, Colonnaded Street, the Royal Tombs, and Qasr al Bent before having lunch near the amphitheatre.
  • Exit Petra via the Dark Siq, a secondary Siq, to visit the High Place of Sacrifice before re-entering the site through the main Siq, so you can experience Petra's most famous view, 'Al Khaznah' or 'The Treasury', as though entering for the first time.
  • Enjoy the unparalleled beauty of Al Khaznah, then exit Petra and head to the campsite.

Dinner and overnight stay at 7 Wonders Bedouin Camp.

Trekking duration: 5-6 hours to the Treasury, in addition to 3-4 hours for sightseeing; 16 km; Altitude: 110 m (360 ft) ascent, 100 m (330 ft) descent, 100 m (330 ft) ascent.
