One of the most important monuments of Ecuador is less than 25 km away from the city: the Equator Monument. This iconic Ecuadorian monument not only honors the French Geodesic Mission of the 18th century, but it is also a place full of history and traditions of the ancestral pre-Incan people who inhabited the area.
After visiting the Inti Nan Museum and discovering its history and ancestral stories, we take you to the heights to see Quito from more than 4,000 meters above sea level. In about 10 minutes of vertical ascent, you can see the mountain ranges and volcanoes, some of them still active, surrounding the city. With luck and good weather, you can also see some of the highest snow-capped volcanoes of Ecuador.
