Jordan's answer to the Grand Canyon, Wadi al-Mujib cuts through red rock and stark desert in the heart of the country. This private Siq Trail experience lets you explore the dramatic gorge without the stress of self-driving, with pickup and drop-off from Amman, the Dead Sea, Madaba, or the airport. Follow the clearly marked trail through the canyon to a waterfall, capturing magical views of red rock, blue pools, and tumbling cascades along the way. Travel in comfort with your own private air-conditioned vehicle, and if you wish, your driver can arrange a local guide for an additional fee.

Admire the 59-foot (18-meter) cascades, take a rest, and, if you wish, swim in the natural rock pool.

Siq Trail Hike Through Wadi Al Mujib

  • On arrival, go through the visitor centre at Mujib Bridge and either follow the trail independently or have the driver accompany you. Admire the canyon, with its sandstone cliffs towering above the riverbed, and take the cantilevered walkway over the dam.
  • Then, follow the river as it weaves between the rock walls. Depending on seasonal rainfall levels, you may need to walk through the river shallows and pools - some at waist height - as you head upstream. There are also two or three places where you will need to climb up rocks using metal ladders or ropes, or scramble over boulders.
  • After about an hour, arrive at the waterfall at the end of the canyon. Admire the 59-foot (18-meter) cascades, take a rest, and, if you wish, swim in the natural rock pool.
