Day 01

Trolley Ride Through Santa Teresa and Lapa

Ride a trolley car to get acquainted with Santa Teresa and enjoy a panoramic excursion through this charming neighborhood.
Pass through the Arcos da Lapa (Lapa Aqueduct) and appreciate the whole of Lapa, as well as the Santa Teresa Convent. Along the way, see old buildings, Curvelo station, bars, stores, beautiful landscapes, restaurants, shops, craftsmanship, simple people, tourists, and interesting architecture at every curve.
Visit the Chácara do Cebu Museum and Ruins Park, where you can enjoy a gorgeous landscape. Get off the trolley and walk approximately 300 m to visit these places. Chácara do Céu is a small museum located near Ruins Park and houses a wonderful collection of modern art paintings.
Continue to the Carioca Aqueduct (Arcos da Lapa), inaugurated in 1744. It supplied water to the city until 1896, when it was transformed for trolley car use. The trolleys running today are replicas. The aqueduct recalls the Free Waters Aqueduct built in Lisbon by D. João V.
