Historic Churches, Markets, and Chocolate in Oaxaca

  • Meet your local guide and begin the tour.
  • Visit the church and ex-monastery of Del Carmen Alto, along with the Carmen El Alto Temple.
  • Explore the Graphic Arts Institute of Oaxaca and see its collection showcasing the best of universal and contemporary graphic art.
  • Continue to the Church of Santo Domingo, a historic architectural monument of the Dominican Order consisting of the temple, the former convent, the orchard, and a spacious cut-stone plaza, slightly elevated above the traffic-free cobblestone streets below.
  • Stroll through the Main Plaza, or Constitution Park, which has existed since the city was founded in 1529.
  • Discover the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption and the Macedonio Alcalá Theater.
