Family Discovery Walk Through Siena
- The tour will begin from the majestic Basilica of San Domenico, then reach one of Siena's medieval fountains and discover nearby the favourite game of the cittini, the Sienese children.
- Visit the house of St. Catherine of Siena, a charismatic figure who wrote letters to the most powerful people of her time, although she did not know how to read or write.
- Passing through alleys rich in stories and legends, find horse stables and little fountains hidden in the districts, typical symbols of the Sienese tradition.
- Visit the Cathedral, an important destination for pilgrims, because right in front of it stands the ancient hospital Santa Maria della Scala, today an important museum. Why this strange name, "St. Mary of the staircase"? What is its symbol? During the tour, you will carefully look for it on the many buildings.
- Afterwards, see the smallest window in the world and spot the she-wolf with two twins on top of a column.
- Once the mystery is revealed, walk down through the Eagle district, Contrada dell'Aquila, to find a hidden fountain and its diabolical werewolf.
- Continue strolling through characteristic and picturesque streets linked to the most important places and cultural figures of the city, with special attention always given to roads passable with prams and strollers.
- Conclude the tour in Piazza del Campo, where the world-famous horse race called the Palio takes place every year. The guide will reveal all the secrets of this unique shell-shaped square and the majestic Palazzo Pubblico.
