Casablanca to Marrakech via Hassan II Mosque

  • First, visit the stunning Hassan II Mosque of Casablanca. This mosque is the largest in Morocco and one of the largest in the world. Its building can hold up to 25,000 worshippers at one time, while the square outside can accommodate more than 80,000.
  • Then, leave Casablanca and drive south to Marrakech. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and enjoy some free time at leisure.

Day 03

Discover the Highlights of Marrakech

On this day, see the best of Marrakech, located in the heart of the country. Because of its location, Marrakech has been the capital of many dynasties that ruled Morocco.

  • First, visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the city's highest building and most important landmark. This mosque dates back to the 12th century and will be seen only from the outside.
  • Move on to the 16th-century Jewish Quarter and then to the 19th-century Bahia Palace. The latter is one of the marvellous palaces in the country and was owned by Morocco's grand vizier in the late 19th century.
  • Then wander through the medina's twisted alleyways to see its traditional markets and souks. It will then be time to visit the famous square of Marrakech, Djamaa Elfena, where you can find snake charmers, acrobats, and musicians performing their art.
  • After lunch, visit Majorelle Gardens, named after the famous French painter who built his art deco villa and started the botanical gardens. In 1980, it became the residence of Yves Saint Laurent. There is also the option of dinner with a fantasia show on this day.
4
Day 04

Marrakech to Essaouira

  • Leave Marrakech after breakfast and take a leisurely drive to Essaouira, a colourful fishing town situated within 15th-century Portuguese fortifications, where great beaches and surf beckon.
  • Take the day to relax on the beach or explore the UNESCO-listed medina with its various souks and woodcarving workshops. Any city gate leads to the medina, so you are unlikely to get lost. The beach is in front of the medina, and there are plenty of cafés with terraces, both ideal for relaxing for a few hours.
  • Blue doors and window frames abound, as do the artists' shops. Buy a carpet or Thuya woodcarving, or sit on the beach sipping mint tea as the sun sets. There is also the opportunity to take part in activities such as quad biking, surfing, horse trekking, and windsurfing. Enjoy a great night out in Essaouira.
