Day 01

Sacred Valley Journey to Pisac and Ollantaytambo

  • Pick up at 7:30 am from your hotel.

  • Travel from Cusco, passing Saqsaywaman and crossing the mountains towards the Sacred Valley.

  • Descend 1,500 feet to the valley floor, alongside the sacred Urubamba River and the village of Pisac.

  • Visit a traditional market to browse and buy local souvenirs if you wish.

  • Drive up to the ruins of Pisac.

  • Explore the extensive ruins while enjoying stunning views over the valley.

  • Take a guided tour of the Citadel of Pisac to see temples, homes, altars, carvings, tunnels, caves, and the famous Intihuatana.

  • Continue towards Urubamba and stop for 45 minutes for lunch.

  • Drive for 30 minutes to Ollantaytambo, surrounded by sacred mountains.

  • Gain further insight into Incan construction, especially the unique Temple of the Sun, with its enormous blocks of rock perfectly carved and polished, as well as stone water fountains, stairs, and terraces.
