The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Quito and Tour Orientation

  • This is the arrival day for all tour participants. Depending on your flights, you can spend the day exploring Quito's Old Town, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, or simply rest at the hotel before our tour guide meets you in the lobby at 6:30 pm for the orientation meeting and briefing before the start of the tour. During this meeting, you can clarify anything you may be concerned about or curious to know regarding the overall tour. For the day, we can also assist you in arranging a full-day visit in Quito or the surrounding area if you let us know in advance.
  • This tour normally operates from Quito; however, you can also start in Guayaquil if you prefer. Please let us know in advance.

Day 02

Fly to San Cristóbal and Kayak to Tijeretas Hill

  • Take an early flight from Quito to San Cristóbal, Galápagos. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel in town, and then begin a nice kayak tour to Tijeretas Hill, Darwin's first landing site. Admire the bay as well as frigate birds and blue-footed boobies flying around the cliffs. At the end of the kayak tour, you can walk and relax near the sea lions at Playa Man, enjoy the landscapes from the beach with a beautiful sunset, and finally return to the hotel.

Day 03

Kicker Rock Snorkelling Adventure

  • Today includes some of the best snorkelling in the Galápagos with a day trip to Kicker Rock. After breakfast, a comfortable speedboat navigates along the coast of San Cristóbal, offering views of the birds and landscape from a different angle. At the rock formation, we'll snorkel through the channel in search of various sharks, fish, turtles, rays, sea lions, and more. Enjoy a box lunch on the boat afterwards and some quiet beach time to relax before returning to town.

Day 04

Santa Cruz Island, Darwin Station and Tortoise Ranch

  • Today, you will take a speedboat to Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island, which takes approximately 2 hours. Then you will go to the hotel for check-in, and the guide will take you to the Charles Darwin Research Station, the most important research centre in the entire Galápagos. Afterwards, you will have some time to enjoy the town and have a quick lunch before the next activity.
  • Then our guide will take you to visit a tortoise ranch in the highlands of Santa Cruz, where you will see a very large area of wild tortoises in their natural state.
  • The rest of the afternoon is free to wander around Puerto Ayora town, or perhaps visit Las Grietas and German Beach on your own.
  • You may also take a walk to visit Tortuga Bay on your own.
  • Finally, you will return to town for the night.

Tonight's advice: Don't miss eating at the QUIOSKOS street, where you can enjoy very fresh lobster and many different types of seafood caught in the morning. Also, go to the pier at night, where you can see baby sharks, rays, and many other animals very close by.

Day 05

Free Day to Explore Santa Cruz Island

  • On this day, you will enjoy the Galápagos on your own. Here, you have several options to visit nearby Puerto Ayora town and the surrounding area.
  • Easy excursions on your own:
    • Visit Las Grietas and Alemanes Beach (water taxi and short walk)
    • Visit Tortuga Bay and kayak at Playa Mansa (walking from the hotel)
    • Visit La Playa de la Estacion (walking from the hotel)
    • Visit El Garrapatero Beach (taxi needed)
    • Visit a tortoise ranch and the highlands (3-hour tour)
  • These other options can only be visited as a tour at an extra cost:

Return Flight to Quito

  • Check out at 10:00 a.m. and take transportation to Baltra Airport for your flight to Quito, followed by the ride to the hotel in Quito.
