Day 01
Papallacta Hot Springs and Andean Forest Experience
- We will pick you up at your hotel in Quito to begin the drive toward the Papallacta area, passing through magical views of the eastern Andes. This journey will take about 1 hour and 30 minutes, with some stops along the way to learn about the Polilepys Forest and the Virgin of the Grasslands, located at 12,300 ft. This is the highest elevation we will reach during the trip. Upon arrival in Papallacta, we will take you on a 1-hour hike through the Andean forest. This is a fantastic opportunity to take photos and admire nature at 11,000 ft. It is high, but the hike is not too strenuous. Once we return from the hike, you will have time for a traditional lunch on your own at the Termas de Papallacta restaurant. Afterward, we invite you to relax in the thermal water pools and enjoy these natural springs that come from the volcano. In addition, if you prefer, you can enjoy a massage or body treatment at the spa (not included in our program).
- Finally, we will drive back to your hotel in Quito.
