Upper and Lower City of Salvador
Historical Tour (Upper City Tour)
The Historical Tour takes place in the vibrant old city of Pelourinho, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. You will discover the key points of Salvador as you walk through the cobbled streets, visit churches, see local craftwork, admire the colourful colonial houses, and feel the rhythm of drums from the unique Afro-Reggae music. A recommended visit includes Saint Francis Church, with its impressive gold-leafed Baroque interior, and the exuberant Cathedral at Jesus Square. The tour then heads to the Municipal Square, where you can enjoy one of Salvador's famous landmarks: the view over the Lower City and All Saints Bay by the Lacerda Elevator.
Panoramic Tour (Lower City Tour)
The Panoramic Tour offers another perspective of the city, revealing the lower city of Salvador and the neighbourhoods around the quiet waters of All Saints Bay. The first stop is the Barra Lighthouse area, where you can enjoy the breeze and the spectacular view of the bay. On the way to the lower city, you will pass by a natural lake with sculptures of African Gods and a soccer stadium. Before reaching Senhor do Bomfim Church, one of the most famous churches in Brazil, you will stop at a famous sorveteria, an ice cream parlour where locals go to enjoy local flavours. Before finishing the tour, you will also see Mont Serrat Fort, which offers a stunning panoramic view of Salvador.
