Temazcal Ritual and Cenote Experience
3:00 PM: Meet your tour guide in Cancun (4:00 PM in Playa del Carmen / 4:30 PM in Tulum).
5:00 PM: Begin the tour inside a Mayan house, where your guide will explain how the Mayas live. You will be introduced to the house and its traditional features, including the palm-tree roof, hammock, stove, and kitchen tools such as the molcajete, a manual corn mill, clothing, and more.
Learn how to make tortillas as the former Mayas made them, and enjoy tasting them as well.
5:25 PM: Visit the circle of sea snails, where you will learn how to blow into the shells to ask permission from Mother Nature before entering the Temazcal.
5:45 PM: Move to the altar, where the Shaman of the Mayan community will welcome you by offering balche, a Mayan drink made from tree bark, honey, water, zacate, and lemon, which helps open the pores. At this time, you will also be taught some Mayan words to use inside the Temazcal.
6:00 PM: Head to the circle of fire, where the Shaman will first perform a purification ritual using medicinal herbs. Inside the circle of fire, you will touch the sea snails and ask permission from the four cardinal points to enter the Temazcal.
6:40 PM - 7:20 PM: Enter the Temazcal one by one to begin the sauna. The Shaman will sing and pray in order to cleanse the body and soul.
7:20 PM: Head towards a cenote to cool down and enjoy its amazing crystal-clear waters.
7:45 PM: Enjoy a light dinner with gourmet fruits, tea, and water.
8:00 PM: Head back to your hotel.
