Description

Visit two of the most beautiful cities in Tuscany: Pisa, to admire the famous Leaning Tower and Piazza de’ Miracoli and Florence, the capital of the Renaissance. Do not forget to sip on the famous wines of the region.

Itinerary

Florence & Pisa Tour
- Pick up in Livorno Port at 08.00 am by an English-speaking driver
- Visit Pisa at 09.00 am. Start the day with a visit to Pisa, where you'll have time to admire and photograph the famous Leaning Tower and other square monuments, including the Baptistery and the Cathedral. The base ticket price is 18 €.
- Drive to Florence and stop at Michelangelo Plaza to capture the best photos of the town.
- See the Cathedral (Santa Maria del Fiore or Duomo) with its massive Cupola and the bell tower, which together make the striking feature of the city.
- Stop for Lunch.
- Return to Livorno Port at 15.00 pm.

The Tower of Pisa began to lean during construction in the 12th century, due to soft ground which could not properly support the structure's weight, and it worsened through the completion of construction in the 14th century. The structure was stabilized by remedial work between 1993 and 2001, which reduced the tilt to 3.97 degrees. Climbing to the top of the leaning tower of Pisa is a unique experience and it offers a very beautiful view of the town.

Florence is known as the cradle of the Renaissance and is still wonderfully preserved as a Renaissance city. According to statistics produced by UNESCO, 60% of the world's most important works of art are located in Italy and approximately half of these are in Florence. Browsing through Florence's collection of breathtaking architecture, sculpture, monuments, museum and other treasures of art might overwhelm you.

Inside are many important works of art by such artists as Michelangelo, Donatello and Brunelleschi. The Basilica of San Lorenzo is the oldest church in the city. The church is flanked by the New Sacristy, designed by Michelangelo and houses the Medici family tombs. Some of Florence most important museums are; "Galleria dell'Accademia" which houses famous sculptures by Michelangelo, and Donatello; "Uffizi Gallery" is one of the greatest museums in the world, with works by Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Rubens, Rembrandt and Goya to name a few.
