The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival at QAIA, Jerash Visit and Transfer to Amman

Get picked up by your Amman tour guide from the airport, who will also assist you in completing immigration formalities.
Head straight to the hotel.
Then, visit Jerash, one of the best-preserved Roman-era cities in the world.
Here, trace the chariot ruts on the Cardo, admire mosaics laid contemporaneously with those found in Madaba, and test the acoustics of the North and South Theatres.
Transfer to your hotel in Amman.

Day 02

Petra Exploration and Overnight Camp in Wadi Rum

After breakfast at the hotel, head to Petra, chosen in 2007 as one of the "New Seven Wonders of the World," and admire its rose-coloured sandstone structures.
Head to Wadi Rum to camp for the night.

Overnight and dinner at the camp.

Day 03

Wadi Rum Desert Safari and Transfer to the Dead Sea

After breakfast at the camp, enjoy a desert safari for about 2 hours.
Transfer to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth and the relic of a giant inland lake.

Day 04

Mount Nebo, Madaba and Amman City Tour before Departure

Start your day with an early morning breakfast.
Then, head to Mount Nebo. According to the scriptures, this is the mountain where Prophet Moses was shown the Promised Land before he died.
Continue to Madaba, an amiable market town of Moab, best known for its collection of Byzantine-era mosaics.
Then, transfer to Amman, also known for the Citadel, which sits on the highest hill in the city.
Here, see the striking sights of the Temple of Hercules and the Umayyad Palace.
Continue towards the Roman Theatre, a magnificently restored theatre and the most evident and impressive remnant of Roman Philadelphia, as well as a highlight of Amman.

Jerash is located only 40 kilometres north of Amman; visitors today can trace the chariot ruts on the Cardo, admire the mosaics laid contemporaneously with those found in Madaba, and test the acoustics of the North and South theatres.
Petra is located amid about 100 ruggedly dramatic square kilometres of Wadi Araba. It is an area of a living museum of 10,000 years of human history.
T.E. Lawrence, the legendary Lawrence of Arabia, came to Wadi Rum many times, both in his pursuit of success during the Great Arab Revolt of 1917 to 1918 and because he found solace in the isolation. Wadi Rum still rewards visitors today with peace and unceasing beauty. The magnificence of Rum lies primarily in its fantastic geology, including one formation that looks like a giant face in profile. The springs that appear throughout Wadi Rum were created when ancient rainfall permeated the sandstone, was stopped by the granite, and found tiny fissures to form pools.
The Dead Sea is the remnant of Lake Lisan, which was 200 kilometres long and 200 metres deeper than the current level of the Dead Sea. As the lake contracted, it left Lake Tiberias and the Dead Sea, 405 metres below sea level.
The most famous mosaic in Madaba is the map on St George's Church floor, but there are many others in different parts of the town, several of them even more complete and vibrantly colourful.
Jebel Al Qala'a (about 850 m above sea level) is the site of ancient Rabbath-Ammon. Occupied since the Bronze Age, it is surrounded by a 1700 m-long wall, which was rebuilt many times during the Bronze and Iron Ages and the Roman, Byzantine, and Umayyad periods.
The Roman theatre is cut into the northern side of a hill and has a seating capacity of 6000. The best time for photographs is in the morning when the light is soft, and the views from the top just before sunset are also superb.
