Santa Margherita to San Fruttuoso with Scenic Coastal Trek

  • Meet your guide in Santa Margherita or Portofino.

  • Hike through terraced olive groves and ancient hamlets, ascending smoothly to cross the mountain ridge at Prato.

  • Walk along a scenic trail high above the sea.

  • Descend through a dark Mediterranean oak forest to the Bay and Abbey of San Fruttuoso. The Abbey of San Fruttuoso is on the Italian Riviera between Camogli and Portofino. It is the seat of the Catholic parish of the same name in the Vicariate of Recco-Uscio-Camogli, Archdiocese of Genoa.

  • Take the boat back to Portofino or Santa Margherita (April to October).

  • Or take the boat to Camogli, then a train back to Santa Margherita (year-round).

  • The boat service may be suspended in case of rough seas or bad weather forecasts, so it is not advisable to rely on a boat return.
