Barcelos, Viana do Castelo and Ponte de Lima
- Start the full day at 09:00 am with pick-up from your hotel and head to northern Portugal, Alto Minho. This region is well known for its vineyards and green wines, fantastic views, and historic sites.
- Travel to the beautiful town of Barcelos, well known for one of Portugal's most famous symbols, the colourful ceramic cockerel, which according to local legend saved the life of a traveller wrongly accused of theft by crowing his innocence.
- Visit its lovely historic centre, where you will find traditional handicraft.
- Continue to the amazing city of Viana do Castelo with your Portugal tour guide. This jewel of the Costa Verde is blessed with both an appealing medieval centre and lovely beaches just outside the city.
- Explore the historic centre and its medieval streets.
- Reach the top of Mount Santa Luzia to admire the Basilica inspired by the Sacré Coeur de Montmartre in Paris. From the basilica's location, there are spectacular views of the city and the beach.
- Head to Ponte de Lima. This beautiful rural village is considered the oldest village in Portugal.
- Check out the historic centre, admire its antique buildings set along the banks of the Lima River, and see its striking stone arch bridge.
- Return to Porto and drop off at your hotel at around 06:00 pm.
