Amman to Jerash and Ajloun Castle

  • Leave Amman and head north to enjoy the fresh breeze and some of the greenest landscapes in Jordan as you make your way to Jerash, the second most visited site in the country and home to some of the best-preserved Roman ruins. A 2-hour tour here will leave you breathless as you explore the stunning Hadrian's Arch and the cardo. The city also features 1,000 pillars, 2 theatres that are still operational, temples, baths, and more.

  • Then travel for 35 minutes with your Jordan tour guide to Ajloun Castle, also known as Rabad Castle, set among oak and pine forests. Explore its waterways and storage areas, visit the museum, and enjoy the stunning rooftop views over the surrounding areas below.

  • If you choose to add Umm Qais to the route, it will require 3 extra hours. This historical place of beauty overlooks the Golan Heights and the Sea of Galilee, offering amazing views and lush greenery.

Know before you go

  • It is recommended to leave early in the morning for this tour and add Umm Qais to it. The amazing views and the site itself are something different and very special.

  • Jesus's Cave can be visited briefly for those who are interested in religious history, about 15 minutes from Umm Qais.

  • Head to the north of Jordan and some of the greenest spots in the country, surrounded by pines and Roman olive trees. Jerash is one of the most preserved Roman settlements ever, about 45 minutes away. Then continue north-west to Ajloun to climb up to one of the most beautiful castles. Umm Qais is usually added to this tour as an option.
