Petra and Wadi Rum Full-Day Exploration
Pick up from your hotel or residence in Amman and drive for 3 hours to the red rose city of Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and, since 1985, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. More than 2,000 years ago, the Nabataean Arabs carved amazing monuments into the sandstone here. The Nabataeans gained wealth by dominating the trade routes of ancient Arabia, but came under Roman rule in 106 AD. Enter Petra through the Siq, an impressively narrow path flanked by 80-meter-high cliffs, until you reach the Treasury. Other monuments you will see include the Street of Façades and the Royal Tombs.
Have lunch at a local restaurant.
Continue driving south to Wadi Rum for a 2-hour jeep ride to visit the Nabatean Temple, Rum Village, Lawrence Spring, and Khazali Canyon.
