Roman Villa of Piazza Armerina and Caltagirone Discovery

With its almost 4000 sqm of original polychrome marble mosaics, this place represents what is now the best-preserved and most extensive set of in situ Roman mosaics in the world. It has been on the World Heritage List since 1997.
