The itinerary

Day 01

Imlil to Sidi Chamharouch and Toubkal Refuge

This trek starts in Imlil, a village in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco at 1,740 metres, about 65 kilometres south of Marrakech. Here, you will meet your team, who will take care of you during the 2 days. The muleteers will take care of your luggage, and we will leave in 30 minutes.
We will pass through Berber villages and the sacred shrine of Sidi Chamharouch at 2,400 metres, where we will enjoy a picnic lunch. After a break, we continue our climb to Toubkal Refuge at 3,207 metres above sea level.

Day 02

Summit Mount Toubkal and Return to Marrakech

Today, we get up early in the morning, have breakfast, and start the climb. We walk slowly, step by step, to the place above the refuge, where we will take a break.
After 3 to 4 hours of climbing, we arrive at the top of Toubkal. Toubkal is probably one of the highest peaks at its latitude, at 4,116 metres, and one of the most accessible in the world. The effort is rewarded with clear views across the High Atlas. You will have enough time to admire the magnificent scenery and take photos.
After descending back to Toubkal Refuge, we enjoy lunch and then take the same route back to Imlil.
Your driver will already be waiting to take you back to Marrakech.

Know before you go

To do this trek, you should be in good physical condition, but your efforts will be rewarded.
Good walking shoes are mandatory; walking sticks and sleeping bags are optional.
Please note that we need an advance payment of 30% of the total amount 4 weeks prior to the arrival date; the remaining 70% is to be paid in cash upon arrival.
