Cusco to Rainbow Mountain Hike
Meet your local tour guide at your hotel for pick-up and transfer.
Enjoy a 3-hour drive through traditional villages with an astounding panorama of the Andes until arriving at the Quesiuno trailhead.
Relish a wholesome breakfast with hot beverages.
Begin at the Inkintuyoc Bridge next to a stream before hiking uphill for about 2 hours.
Arrive at the popular Rainbow Mountain and view a variety of Andean wildlife, including llamas and alpacas. In fact, this is the only place in Peru where wild vicuñas and the Andean camel can be seen.
Marvel at the incredible panorama of the valley and the tallest peak in the region, Ausangate Glacier, at 21,000 feet.
Have a refreshing lunch and take photos of the vibrantly coloured minerals that have formed these painted hills.
Make a 1-hour descent and meet the local Quechua people on the way. These people still follow the old customs of the Incas and weave the typical garments that are available in various shops and museums throughout Peru.
Drive back to Cusco.
