Day by day
Visit Quito Old Town, considered a UNESCO heritage site, and the Panecillo viewpoint located at 3000 m.
Walk to the main plaza and the Gold Church.
Later, drive 30 km to the equator line. There, visit the museum and discover the different ways used by the tribes to survive in both the highlands and the jungle.
Depart from Quito and reach Cotopaxi National Park.
Visit Limpiopungo Lagoon and trek around it to spot birds and mammals.
Hike to 15,000 feet on the conic Cotopaxi volcano, similar to Mount Fuji.
Return to rest in the mountain farm lodge.
Visit Quilotoa Lake.
Trek around it to admire the enchanting landscapes.
Overnight stay in the mountain farm lodge.
Early in the morning, depart for the Alausi railway station to reach the Devil's Nose. It is one of the most incredible feats of railroad engineering, completed in the early 1900s.
Enjoy the Andes landscape and do some shopping.
In the evening, enjoy a dance show by the natives.
Overnight stay at the hotel or lodge.
Drive to the town of Baños. Enjoy the waterfalls and hot springs.
Take part in activities such as rafting, biking, trekking, and canyoning, depending on your interest.
Continue with the adventurous activities in Baños.
In the afternoon, head to the next destination, Puyo, the city in the upper jungle.
Overnight stay at the jungle lodge.
After breakfast, visit the Botanical Garden, where your guide will point out cinnamon plants.
Later, visit a secondary jungle reserve. Trek across the rainforest and take a refreshing bath in a sacred waterfall.
Spend the night in a native Indian cabin and enjoy traditional lunch and dinner.
Early in the morning, go boating in a native's canoe.
Later, do some shopping in a native Indian community.
Spend the night in a jungle lodge.
Depart for the town of Tena. En route, stop at a reserve, especially for rescued wild animals.
Later, continue to another jungle lodge, where you can indulge in different activities like canoeing, a night trek, and piranha fishing.
The day begins with river rafting.
