Day 01

Explore Quito and Stand on the Equatorial Line

• Meet your tour guide at your hotel and proceed to the Basilica Church.
• Walk through the colonial streets and stop at Independence Plaza to admire the Cathedral and the Government's Palace.
• Continue to La Ronda Street, the Company Church, Santo Domingo's Church, Sagrario's Church, and San Francisco's Church.
• Head to the Telefe9rico, one of the best ways to enjoy the city, with views of beautiful valleys, snow-capped mountains, and the capital, Quito. From more than 13,000 feet (4,000 m), you will enjoy magnificent views of the city. Have lunch.
• Proceed to the Middle of the World Monument, where you can stand right on the equatorial line and be in the Earth's two hemispheres at once.
• Participate in several experiments at the Intiñan Museum, such as watching water go down a drain in a different direction only inches away from either side of the equator, balancing an egg on a nail, using an ancient sundial, and much more.
• Visit a fascinating ethnographic museum that gives a great overview of the many distinct cultures of this small country.
