Darkhan to Amarbayasgalant Monastery and Valley Hike
We will pick you up from your hotel, and our journey begins in the city of Darkhan.
Darkhan City was founded on October 17, 1961, in Burkhant Valley. The city was built with the help of the Soviet Union, Bulgaria, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Germany, and Hungary.
We then drive to Amarbayasgalant Monastery. After lunch, visit the exotic Amarbayasgalant Monastery and learn about its history. You will also have time for hiking in and around the monastery and for taking good pictures. Amarbayasgalant Monastery was established by order of the Manchu Qing Dynasty's Emperor Kangxi (Enkh-Amgalan Khaan) and built between 1727 and 1736 in honor of his teacher, Undur Gegeen Zanabazar (High Saint Zanabazar). The monastery consists of more than 30 temples and is one of the least destroyed monasteries from the Communist period. It has been protected by the Government of Mongolia since 1943 and is an excellent place to enjoy the Buddhist cultural heritage of Mongolia.
