Arrival in Srinagar and Mughal Garden Sightseeing
Pick up from Srinagar Airport and then proceed to the houseboat.
Local sightseeing includes:
A visit to the famous Mughal Gardens. Built by the Mughals in Persian style, they feature pools, fountains, and canals within the gardens.
Visit Shankar Acharya Temple, built on top of the mountain overlooking Dal Lake.
Then proceed to Pari Mahal (Palace of Fairies), Cheshma Shahi (Mughal Spring), and Nishat Garden, known as the "Garden of Pleasure," built in the 16th century (1633) by Mughal King Asif Khan.
Next, proceed to Shalimar Garden, known as the "Garden of Love," built in the 16th century (1619) by Mughal King Jehangir for his beloved wife Noor Jehan (Mehr-un-Nissa). Here, you will also enjoy a shikara ride on the world-famous Dal Lake.
While sailing on the Dal, you will cover the floating gardens, vegetable gardens, Golden Lake, inner markets like Meena Bazaar, canals, and enjoy scenic views of the Zabarwan mountains.
