The itinerary

Day 01

Rio Negro Cruise and the Meeting of the Waters

  • Depart from the hotel at 07:30 am and reach Port Ajato 2000 to embark at 08:00 am.

  • Navigate down the Rio Negro River to see the famous phenomenon at the confluence of the Rio Negro and Rio Solimões, where you can observe the different colours of the two rivers.

  • Continue to Lake Janauari for special sightseeing of the Giant Water Lilies. From April to August, the rivers are flooded.

  • Enjoy lunch on the boat.

  • Then continue up the Rio Negro for activities.

  • Have dinner.

Spend the night on the boat.

Day 02

Sunrise Birdwatching, Jungle Hike and Caiman Spotting

  • Wake up at 05:15 am for the morning tour at sunrise and bird observation.

  • Come back for breakfast at 07:00 am, then get ready for the jungle hike. During the hike, your Brazilian English-speaking jungle guide will point out several plants that are used as medicines and herbs.

  • Return to the boat for lunch around noon.

  • At 15:00, the hotel boat will take you to a place where you will explore the flooded woodlands, observe some animals and birds, and then fish for piranhas.

  • Head back to the boat and have dinner around 19:00.

  • After dinner, you and your guides will leave in a small motorized boat to spot some caimans (alligators).

  • Overnight.

Day 03

Indigenous Family Visit and Pink Dolphin Swim

  • Have breakfast at 07:00 am, then visit Indigenous families. After that, continue to a place where you will swim with the pink river dolphins.

  • Return to Manaus around 5:00 pm.

  • Dry season: from September to February, when the river level reaches its lowest point. This is when you have the opportunity to see more fish and caimans (alligators).

  • Amazon cruises with cabins and air conditioning.
