Amazon Indigenous Lifestyle and River Expedition

  • Meet at the port of Manaus and head downstream along the Rio Negro to see the confluence, where two rivers do not mix.

  • Visit the "floating village" of Catalão, made up of many typical Amazonian houses.

  • Purchase handmade souvenirs from local Caboclos.

  • See the Amazon's largest freshwater scale fish, the Arapima (Pirarucu), the most expensive fish in Manaus.

  • Continue upstream into Janauari Ecological Park, where you will see monkeys, giant water lilies, and the Samauma Tree, one of the largest tree species in the world.

  • Enjoy lunch in the park, with a large buffet prepared by local cooks featuring typical fruits, vegetables, regional freshwater fish, and local juices.

  • Swim with the pink dolphins and visit the native Dessana tribe.

  • The boat ride to the pink dolphins lasts approximately one hour, and from there it is only 15 minutes to reach the Dessana tribe, who will greet you with a warm welcome, local dance, and special instrumental songs.

  • Witness their traditional customs and way of life, as well as local animals such as the famous anaconda, caiman, and sloth, which they view and treat as local pets.
