Berlin Architectural and Historical Highlights

  • Meet your tour guide at the agreed-upon location to begin your tour.

  • Discover Germany's tallest structure, the iconic TV Tower, located on the vibrant Alexanderplatz Square.

  • Visit the Red City Hall, Marien Church, and Neptune's Fountain.

  • Explore Museum Island, one of the most important museum complexes in the world.

  • Travel to Berlin's historic former Royal Quarter along the beautiful boulevard of Unter den Linden.

  • Discover the Berlin Cathedral, the unfinished reconstruction of the City Palace, the Old Museum, the Old National Gallery, the Pergamon Museum, and the Bode Museum.

  • Walk through Forum Fridericianum, which consists of the State Opera, the Law Faculty of Humboldt University, the main building of Humboldt University, the State Library, and the first Catholic church in Berlin, St. Hedwig's Cathedral.

  • Continue to the middle of the forum at Bebelplatz, known by locals for the Nazi book burning, where 25,000 books were burned.

  • Head to the square and find a memorial in remembrance of the burned books.

  • Arrive at the spectacular Gendarmenmarkt and discover the former Royal Concert Hall, flanked by the German Dom on its south side and the French Dom on its north side.

  • Move to Checkpoint Charlie, one of the most famous border crossings of the Berlin Wall, which almost became the starting point of a third world war.

  • Cycle along the former border strip and see original parts of the Berlin Wall and the site of the Topography of Terror, one of the most frequently visited documentation centres.

  • Travel to Martin-Gropius-Bau, where exhibitions by the well-known Chinese artist Ai Weiwei and the international exhibition on David Bowie have taken place.

  • Pass through the Prussian Parliament.

  • Visit the Memorial of the Murdered Jews of Europe, also known as the Holocaust Memorial, opened in 2005 and commemorating the murder of more than 6 million Jews during the National Socialism Movement.

  • Explore Potsdamer Platz, Europe's largest construction site, where an ensemble of skyscrapers and futuristic buildings can be found, including the famous Sony Center.

  • Continue to Tiergarten, Berlin's largest inner-city park, and see the Victory Column situated in the middle of the park.

  • Take a boat ride on Berlin's longest river, the Spree.

  • Discover Bellevue Palace, the official residence of the Federal President.
