This camping safari combines two of Botswana's most rewarding wilderness areas: the inner Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve. Spend two nights camping in the Delta and two nights in Moremi, with wildlife viewing by mokoro, on foot, and by safari vehicle. Throughout the journey, you will be accompanied by a professional driver-guide and chef, with meals, camping equipment, and park fees taken care of for you. It is an immersive way to experience the waterways, birdlife, and game-rich landscapes of northern Botswana.

Day 01

5-Day Okavango Delta and Moremi Camping Safari

Day 1 Okavango Delta

Upon your arrival at Maun International Airport, you will have a quick lunch before being transferred to the mokoro station. From there, you will travel into the inner Okavango Delta with your professional guide, chef, and camp assistant. Your meals, bottled water, camping equipment, and park fees will all be taken care of.

Day 2 Okavango Delta

Today, you will explore different parts of the Okavango Delta. Activities include a game walk, a sunset mokoro ride, and birdwatching, all led by your professional guide. Your chef will prepare your meals throughout the day. Please let us know in advance if you require a special diet.

Day 3 Moremi Game Reserve

Today, you will travel by safari Land Cruiser to Moremi Game Reserve and check in at camp for a two-night stay. The camp assistant will manage the campsite, your chef will prepare your meals, and your professional guide will lead all activities, including game drives.

Day 4 Moremi Game Reserve

After an early breakfast, you will head out on a game drive in an area of the park selected by your professional guide. The drive continues until lunchtime, when you return to camp for a chef-prepared lunch. After some time to rest, you will take part in an afternoon activity on the other side of the park.

Day 5 Maun Airport

  • Waterproof dry bag: Protects your phone, camera, and binoculars from splashes or sudden rain.
  • Insect repellent: Look for formulas containing DEET or Picaridin for evening protection.
  • Malaria prophylactics: Both Moremi and the Delta are high-risk malaria zones; consult your doctor.
  • Binoculars: A pair of 8x42 binoculars is crucial for spotting birds from the mokoro.
  • Headlamp: Essential for navigating dark campsites or lodges at night.
  • Power bank: Keeping your camera or phone charged when off the grid is vital.

Know before you go

  • Never leave your vehicle or canoe: Moremi is an unfenced, wild reserve; predators are always nearby.
  • Keep your hands inside the mokoro: Do not dangle your fingers or feet in the water due to crocodiles and hippos.
  • Listen to your poler: Your local guide understands the water and wildlife behavior perfectly-follow their instructions instantly.
  • No night driving: Self-drive visitors must be inside their designated camp gates before sunset.
  • No toilets on the water: Mokoro trips explore pure wilderness; you will use bush toilets on islands during stops.
  • Basic campsite amenities: If you choose mobile camping, expect bucket showers, long-drop toilets, and zero Wi-Fi.
  • Intense temperature swings: Winter mornings (May to August) can drop to 5°C (41°F) on open vehicles, while afternoons easily top 30°C (86°F).
  • Luggage is restricted: Light aircraft transfers strictly enforce a 15kg (33 lbs) limit in soft-sided bags only.
