Day 01

The Great Khan and Nomadic Hospitality

  • 09:00 Departure from Ulaanbaatar

    Your guide and driver will pick you up from your accommodation. Head east out of the city toward the steppe.

  • 10:30 Genghis Khan Statue Complex (Tsonjin Boldog)

    Visit the world's largest equestrian statue, a 40-meter-tall stainless steel masterpiece.

    • Activity: Take the elevator up to the horse's head for a panoramic view of the surrounding hills.

    • Museum: Explore the archaeological museum at the base, featuring artifacts from the Bronze Age and the Great Khan era.

  • 13:00 Arrival at Terelj National Park and Lunch

    Enter the granite mountains of Terelj. Enjoy a traditional lunch, such as Tsuivan or Buuz, at a local Ger camp or with a host family.

  • 14:30 Turtle Rock and Ariyabal Temple

    • Turtle Rock: Make a quick stop for photos at this natural granite formation.

    • Ariyabal Meditation Temple: Take a short hike up the hillside. The path offers peaceful scenery, and the view from the top is one of the best in the park.

  • 16:30 Horseback Riding

    Meet your nomadic hosts and begin a 1-2 hour horseback ride through the larch forests and open meadows.

  • 19:00 Dinner and Nomad Stay

    Spend the night in a traditional Ger. Enjoy a home-cooked meal with the family and experience the quiet of the Mongolian night under a canopy of stars.

Nomadic Life Experience and Return to Ulaanbaatar

    Wake up to the sounds of livestock. You have the opportunity to:

  • 10:00 Exploration or Archery

    Take a final walk along the river or try your hand at traditional Mongolian archery, a skill central to nomadic history.

  • 12:30 Farewell Lunch

    Share a final meal with your host family, exchanging stories and tea.

  • 14:00 Scenic Drive Back to Ulaanbaatar

    Enjoy the changing landscapes as you leave the mountains and return to the capital.
