Itinerary

1. Day 1: Aït Bouguemez – Arous Village – Ikkis Valley – Tarkedit Plateau

   • Travel into the scenic Aït Bouguemez Valley and meet the mule support team.
   • Begin the trek from Arous village, entering the dramatic Ikkis Valley with its rugged mountain scenery and traditional Berber settlements.
   • Continue a gradual ascent through changing landscapes towards the high-altitude Tarkedit Plateau.
   • Arrive at the remote basecamp area, known for seasonal nomadic grazing activity.
   • Settle into camp and spend the night under the High Atlas sky.

2. Day 2: Summit Attempt of Mount M Goun 4,071m

   • Early wake-up around 4:00 AM for the first summit attempt.
     Begin a steady climb toward the long ridge leading to the summit of Mount M'Goun.
     The final section follows an exposed ridge of approximately 4 km, often affected by strong winds.
     At the summit, enjoy spectacular panoramic views:
     • South: toward the Sahara (on clear days)
     • North: endless High Atlas peaks above 3,000m
   • 
     ⚠️ Safety First:
     If wind conditions exceed 60 km/h, we turn back to basecamp and postpone the summit attempt.
     Return to Tarkedit Plateau. Overnight in camp

3. Day 3: Second Summit Attempt or Descent to Aït Bouguemez

   • If required, attempt a second summit push early in the morning under improved conditions.
   • If the summit is achieved, begin a controlled descent back towards Aït Bouguemez Valley.
   • Trek through varied mountain terrain with river crossings and panoramic landscapes.
   • Arrive at a local guesthouse or camp in the valley for the night. 

4. Day 4 (Optional): Ikkis Gorges Exploration and Return to Marrakech

   • Explore the hidden Ikkis Gorges if the summit was completed earlier in the itinerary.
   • Walk through striking natural formations and remote valley landscapes.
   • After the hike, transfer back towards Marrakech. IF TIME ALLOWED a free bonus visit to MAJESTIC OUZOUD WATER FALLS
