Full-Day Okavango Delta Mokoro Excursion
07:00 AM: Get picked up from your accommodation in Maun and travel on a 2 to 3 hour 4x4 transfer to the mokoro station at the edge of the Okavango Delta.
09:30 AM: Meet your professional poler guide and board a traditional two person mokoro, sitting low in the water for a unique frog eye view of the delta channels.
Glide silently through narrow reed lined waterways and lily covered lagoons while observing aquatic life such as painted reed frogs, water lilies and various bird species.
Listen to the gentle sounds of nature including rippling water and the distant call of the African Fish Eagle while enjoying peaceful wildlife viewing from the water.
12:30 PM: Arrive at a remote island for a picnic lunch surrounded by the delta’s botanical beauty.
Join your guide for a 1 to 2 hour guided bush walk to track larger wildlife such as elephants and zebras while learning about the ecosystem.
03:00 PM: Return slowly by mokoro through the delta channels, often timed to enjoy the warm golden afternoon light that is ideal for photography.
