Payment and Cancellation Policies


The payment and cancellation policy for your tour is selected by your tour service provider. Each service provider selects the policy that best covers their risk of cancellation, and potential loss in relation to any arrangements made by them such as flights, hotels, transportation, as well as compensation for their time, which they need to block for the booking.

For the same trip request, if you have multiple proposals, it is possible that each tour provider would have selected different payment and cancellation policies. You can review the payment and cancellation policy applicable to each proposal next to the tour proposal.

The service provider may request for either a part of the payment or the full payment to be collected by tourHQ at the time of the booking. In some cases, the tour service provider may give you the choice to select whether you would like to pay the full tour price or a part of the tour price upfront. In case you pay a part of the tour price upfront, the balance needs to be paid directly to the service provider at the time of the tour.

Below, we summarise the different payments and cancellation policies that may be applicable on your booking. Please read this in conjunction with the actual policy selected by the service provider.

Different Policies Applicable:

  1. Flexible Cancellation Policy:
    • In case of Cash Payment:
      • Booking Process:

        You may pay an initial 20% deposit online on tourHQ, and the balance (80% of the tour cost) is to be paid in cash directly to the Guide/Tour Operator on arrival.

      • Cancellation:

        If you cancel at any time, you will forfeit the initial 20% deposit. No further payments are required to be made to the tour service provider.

    • In case of Online/ Card Payment:
      • Booking Process:

        You pay the entire tour price online on tourHQ to complete the booking.

      • Cancellation:

        If you cancel more than 48 hours before the tour, you will forfeit 20% of the initial payment, and receive a refund for the balance paid via the original mode of payment.

        If you cancel less than 2 days before arrival or are a no-show, there will be no refund of the tour price that has been paid upfront.

  2. Moderate Cancellation Policy:
    • In case of Cash Payment:
      • Booking Process:

        You pay an initial 50% deposit online on tourHQ, and the balance amount (50% of the tour cost) is to be paid directly to the tour service provider in cash on arrival.

      • Cancellation:

        If you cancel at any time or is a no-show, you will forfeit the initial 50% deposit paid.

    • In case of Online/ Card Payment:
      • Booking Process:

        You pay the entire tour price online to complete the booking.

      • Cancellation:

        If you cancel more than 48 hours before the tour, you will forfeit 50% of the tour cost. The balance amount paid will be refunded to you via the original mode of payment.

        If you cancel less than 48 Hours before the tour or are a no-show, there will be no refund applicable for this booking.

  3. Strict Cancellation Policy:
    • Booking Process:

      You pay the entire tour price online to complete the booking. There is no option for part payment of the tour price.

    • Cancellation:

      In case of cancellation at anytime, there is no refund of the tour price paid.
