Use a fortnight to travel around Myanmar; get introduced to the country's rich history through museums, ancient pagodas and temples, as well as enjoy the local feel with visits to unique villages with tattooed women, markets, artisan workshops and ferry rides aplenty.

DAY 01

Yangon Arrival

  • Be welcomed at the airport and transfer to the hotel.

  • Walk around Yangon, the former capital of Myanmar to see old colonial buildings and the real life of local people.

  • Start at Sule Pagoda, the hub of the city. City Hall, Former Immigration Department, Immanuel Baptist Church, High Court, Mahabandoola Garden with the Independence Monument.

  • Keep walking toward Yangon River. Former Yangon Region Office Complex, the red brick Customs House, Rangoon Region Court, Port Authority, Strand Hotel and Post Office are on the way.

  • See China Town, India Quarter, Bogyoke Aung San Market, Chauk Htet Gyi Reclining Buddha Image and Kandawgyi Lake where Karaweik Palace is located on, Majestic Shwedagon Pagoda, the landmark of Myanmar.

  • Sleep overnight at Yangon.

DAY 02

Yangon - Sittwe by flight

  • Fly to Sittwe, Rakhine State, located in the western part of Myanmar. It is a capital of the State built by the British in 1826.

  • Upon the arrival, you will be welcome at the Sittwe airport. You will see the cultural of Rakhine people and lifestyle.

  • Explore the Rakhine Cultural Museum.

  • Continue to the lively fish market and Rice market near the River Kaladen.

  • See the Phaya Gyi, a big bronze Buddha Statue, located in the center of the city.

  • Go and study the old Buddha Images collections from 1st to 18th century at the old Monastery.

  • Enjoy the Sunset and fresh air at the Point on the mouth of the Bengal Sea.

DAY 03

Sittwe - Mrauk U by Local Ferry

  • Transfer to the jetty early in the morning. Take a local boat ferry to Mrauk U. It will take us about 5 hours to get to Mrauk U from Sittwe by boat. You could chat with local people on the boat and enjoy the beauty of River Kaladen and small creeks where fishermen and traders are sailing on. In the afternoon the ship will arrive at Mrauk U Jetty and Transfer to Hotel.

  • After washing up at the hotel, you will do the Mrauk U city tour. Mrauk U is an area with 700 Pagodas built in the 15th to the 18th century.

  • Visit the Nayputaung Pagoda, Pesi Taung Pagoda, and sunset from the Discovery Mountain.

DAY 04

Mrauk U tour

  • After breakfast, explore Mrauk U.

  • Start sightseeing by walking around the local villages and markets. Visit: 

    • Koethaung  Pagoda

    • Butterfly Lake

    • Bandoohla Monastery

    • Htoukkanthein

    • YadanaBon Pagoda

    • Laungbanbyauk Pagoda

    • Anndawthein Pagoda

    • Palace Museum and Mrauk U Palace site.

    • Chitthaung pagoda

    • LayMyetnnar pagoda.

    • Sunset from the Small Hill near Radanarbon.

DAY 05

Mrauk U - Chin villages by car and boat

  • Tour around Chin Villages where tattooed face women live. Villages are located in the up River Laymyo. We will go by boat. it takes us about 4 hours in the small creek.

  • See around for about three villages.

  • Back Mrauk U by boat and car.

DAY 06

Mmrauk U - Sittwe - Yangon by boat and flight

  • Take a boat or ship to Sittwe back to fly Yangon in the evening. You will get to Sittwe in the afternoon and Take a flight from Sittwe to Yangon.

  • Stay one night at Yangon.

DAY 07

Yangon - Mandalay by flight

  • See the Maha Muni Pagoda, cast during the lifetime of the Buddha according to legend.

  • Stroll around Marble stone carving street.

  • Explore the wood carving workshop, gold leaf making, and Mandalay palace which was built in 1857 by King Mindon (the second last king of Yadanabon Kingdom).

  • Go to Golden Palace monastery covered by gold leave and wood carving.

  • Head to Kuthodaw pagoda (the world biggest book) acknowledged by UNESCO.

  • Drive up Mandalay hill (975feet above sea level )by car and enjoy the sunset, fresh air.

DAY 08

Mandalay three ancient cities Tour

  • Go to U Bein bridge (the world longest teak bridge) with 1086 teak pillars that are 1. 2km long and over 160 years old.

  • Explore Mahagandaryon monastery whereover 1500 monks are residing and have a look at the life in monastery.

  • Proceed to Ava but driver will drop us at the bank of Myitthar river, so we have to take the ferry boat. 

  • When we get to Ava, we will use horse cart and enjoy the local life. 

  • Visit Bargayar monastery with 176 teak pillors and the longest teak pillor is 17m and 2. 7m wide buit in 1834 AD.  

  • At last spot we will go to the leaning tower or Nanmyint tower built in 1822 AD.

  • Continue to the May Nu Brick monastery built in 1822 AD.

  • Ferry back to Car Stop and drive up the Sagaing Hill located on the other bank of River Ayeyarwaddy to see SoonOoPoneNyaShine Pagoda and Uminthonese Buddha Images. You could enjoy the best view of Lively River Ayeyarwaddy and Sagaing City.

DAY 09

mandalay - mingun - bagan by car

  • In the morning, we will take a ferry to Mingun. It takes one hour to get to Mingun from Mandalay Strand Road Jetty.  You will enjoy the beauty of River Ayeyarwady with fresh air during the boat ride. 

  • Upon arrival at Mingun, we will explore the world biggest unfinished Mingun Pahto.

  • Soft Walking around Mingun Villages and go to beat the world biggest ringing Bell (90 tons) and another photogenic Stupa, Myatheindan. 

  • Take a boat back to Mandalay Jetty and Drive to Bagan.

DAY 10

  • Walk around local busy colorful Nyaung U Market.

  • See the Pagoda Shwezigon, Temple Ananda built in 1091 is considered the masterpiece of Bagan's surviving Mon architecture.

  • View the Damanrangyi and Thatbanyu Temple are superlative among 3000 stupas and temples.

  • Stop at Hilominlo Temple has the best plasterwork on the wall

  • Come across Ma-Nu-Har Pagoda and Gubraukgyi Temple with mural paintings are highlights in Bagan also. 

  • Pay a visit to a small Myinkabar village to see the thriving lacquerware industry.

DAY 11

Bagan - mt. popa by car

  • After Breakfast, drive to Mt. Popa. 

  • Stop at the farmer's house to study their life and works in the field. They usually serve the guest with green tea. You can taste local Sky Beer, Peanut, Palm Candy, Coconut Candy, and other local snacks.

  • Continue to Mt. Popa where is home for a spiritual being. 

  • Climb up to the top of Mt. Popa along the covered stairway with 777 steps.

DAY 12

Bagan - Inle lake by flight

  • Upon arrival at Heho Airport, the driver will pick us up and drive to Pindaya cave. You will arrive at Inle Lake, Shan State, in the eastern part of Myanmar.

  • Explore Pindaya Cave which is a natural limestone cave with old Buddhist images.

  • See Shan Paper Making. 

  • Drive to Nyaung Shwe City near the Inle Lake.

DAY 13

Inle lake sightseeing

You will visit the following highlights of Inle Lake:

  • Ywama village, Silk weaving industry and the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda

  • Nampan village, Charoot Industry and floating gardens

  • Maing Thauk Village and

  • Indein Village. The Village of Indein meaning ‘shallow lake’ is most famous for its crumbling and atmospheric groups of ancient pagodas, some of which are now being restored (sometimes in rather too pristine fashion). These include Nyaung Oak immediately behind the village, with its carvings of mythical creatures, and Shwe Inn Thein Paya, which can be found at the top of a long and atmospheric covered walkway leading up the hill;

  • Nga Hpe Kyaung monastery, Inthar Heritage House and cats.

DAY 14

Inle lake - yangon by flight

  • Relax at the hotel. 

  • Transfer to Airport to fly back Yangon in the afternoon.
